Love this one, the mix of grey and black goes so well. Although a fairly neutral outfit, holds all the essential staples of any outfit, including the beloved Hermes bag! Click on the picture to find out where to get these gorgeous pieces, and to view all my other sets I’ve created!

The everyday wear: to pick up coffee, go shopping, walk the dog etc. Cosy, but always cute. Every item is a must-have in a wardrobe.

Keeping warm, but snug in London during Winter.

My first post about the staples for my New Years resolution. While I admit that adding a Hermes Birkin is a little ambitious, its a great example of a classic black bag…plus I am in love with it!

a new years resolution...

New Years resolutions…something I try really hard to keep up with. But inevitably, you set yourself too hard a task, break the resolution and feel miserable about it, plus January weather helps no-one. My resolution this year, is going to start off a small one, but if it gets going will be a pretty major one in the end! I’m hoping to scale down my wardrobe, this means limited buying in the Christmas sales, buying only what I feel I need to have a minimal but happy wardrobe.

I’m going to produce a list in the next few days of what I want to have in my wardrobe, the essentials. The problem with watching trends, is that no sooner have you saved and bought it, but its gone and lingers in the wardrobe forever. This list won’t depend on the quick trends because it’ll be staples that you can wear with all the micro trends, and will last through all the other crazy things you buy before thinking. (Which is what i’m trying to cut out!).

In the mean time, I will be posting up staples that I like, and think should be in a wardrobe!

I’ve been waiting for this to come in since mid-September in Topshop not really to buy it (£350 btw), but to see what they came up with after watching THAT Burberry Prorsum show by Christopher Bailey. I finally found it last night in Topshop Oxford Circus and I think they’ve done a really great version. Classic, tasteful and completely worth the money. So many on the high street are poorly made and definitely show it, but this coat, if poorly made, has an amazing way of hiding it.

Check out the SS11 Bodkin collection here. I’ve posted up my favourite looks from the collection. Bodkin designs their clothes with both sustainability and fashion in mind, and the product really is cool. Also, the shoes featured in this photo shoot are so cute, especially the brown ankle boots. Yum.

I found this photo on A Pair and A Spare, an amazing blog which shows you how to DIY clothes that cost lots otherwise. This top particularly caught my fancy, i think its really cool!

The girl is from fashiontoast blog. Its a hugely popular fashion blog, and she was one of the lucky tumblr girls to be sent out to NY to blog about A/W 2011!

Chloé’s SS11 collection showed a strong focus on ballet this season, with a neutral palette it still looks chic. The below-the-knee skirts in all 3 photos are beautiful. Still using the theme ‘minimalism’ from AW10, Hannah MacGibbon really is showing that Chloé is at the forefront of international fashion. Simple but elegant, and still using simple fabrics: crepe silk, chiffon, tulle, leather etc. I love this first photo in particular for the similar colours of the top and skirt, with the ribbon lining the top of the skirt beautifully and the skirt being slightly see-through to see the high-waisted silk underwear. Also notice the low-backed leotards, and that they are all wearing flat ballet pumps?

Found on the very popular Jak&Jil blog, this clutch is amazing! Worn leather, and large size means its useful too! And although not usually a fan of white leather, this gets my vote. Love it. Although check out the huge silver rings, also a big fan!

Boutique by Topshop offer great staples and basics, in luxe fabrics. I adore these 70s inspired trousers. Although the trend at the moment being cigarette pants, these creeped onto the runway for A/W ‘10, but are slowly making their way in to shops and wardrobes of the rich and stylish.

Tiffany and Co. presents Somerset House skating rink! With a huge christmas tree at one end and a bar that looks out over the rink, its got that buzz that only comes on the run up to the Big Day…! I’m going on Saturday….I can’t skate AT ALL, so i’m going to take photos of everyone else falling over in the comfort of the bar with a huge mug of mulled wine!

Go here to book tickets..

American Apparel’s Drop-Shoulder French Terry sweatshirt wins my approval…comfy and effortless: the two words I live for when its very cold outside and you need to be in the warm. Heres a picture of it in Martini blue. Wrap up and get comfy (while still looking pretty damn cool..)

Dolce & Gabbana’s “Sicilian Sensuality” collection. For S/S ‘11, this is perfect. The minimalistic, but incredibly chic and detailed white lace in the majority of the collection is going to be a huge hit. Here are just a few of the looks that I love
