I’m poorly - so my inspiration has been kicked out of me. Better posts when I’m better, I promise, but here is what i’ve found in the last few days and these photos are trying to kick the inspiration back into me.

The beautiful Lake Bell for Oyster. She is stunning in that girl next door kind of way.

Reiss got in contact and asked if I could review their SS12 collection. So this is just what I’m doing! “Inspired by 90s minimalism, Reiss SS12 references the clean lines from the past Calvin Klein campaigns and the sex appeal and cut of vintage Jean Paul Gaultier”

The lookbook is an amazing display of pastel colours with different textures and tailoring being styled elegantly together. The occasionwear is refreshing and simple, whilst the 1971 range mixes chunky biker masculine jackets with fluid printed maxi skirts and dresses in a range of prints. In my opinion, Reiss are catering for different types of women and this makes me extremely happy. I am not an occasionwear dresser and will (even for a party) prefer a biker jacket with a maxi dress. The introduction of 1971 has lured me into Reiss and I will now mix between the two types of ‘Woman’ to create my own unique look. The High Summer collection (that will be out later in the year I presume…) will be seeing a nod to 40s Poolside (YAY) - think printed shorts, semi sheer dressing and crop tops.
The Prints “A study of prints is evident this season. The journey begins organically with intricately hand drawn florals, which are repeated and distorted to give a more graphic illusion.”
The Palette “A palette of irresistance neutrol tones is complemented this season with pastel hues of mint and apricot. New depth is added with shades of auburn. Pops of aquamarine and citrus yellow feel fresh when used in prints and burnouts” I saw lots of citrus yellow amongst the pastels on the SS12 catwalks (see Aquascutum for the bright yellow dress sitting with other white outfits). I am really excited for Reiss’ spin on the latest trends. The second shot above - I love the lace top with a playful hem, reminds me of Stella McCartney. I had a quick look in Reiss at lunchtime, and I have to say I am head over heels in love with the Ava hat (in black or camel). Mix that with their biker jacket and a beautiful maxi skirt and I am set for the summer! Thanks Reiss for the photos. All quotes are from the Reiss SS12 Press Release.
Found a new blog (via Because i’m addicted) called Blame it on fashion. I am in love with these outfit posts. They are so simple (notice how plain the colours are and prints), but I love that her blonde hair and accessories make the outfits. She is called Marie Hindkær Wolthers and is now in my bookmarks and must-see daily blog!
Check out my Wordpress site - this is where I do most of my blogging.
